台灣女網雙姝謝淑薇、詹皓晴，雖然在上一站印地安泉網賽與新搭檔合作都吞下敗戰，但兩人29日在總獎金高達1242.5萬美元邁阿密網球公開賽女雙首輪中，雙雙以直落二獲勝晉級16強。
謝淑薇與印度蜜爾薩(S.Mirza)拆夥後，上一站首度搭檔世界前雙打球后、33歲義大利老將潘內塔(F.Pennetta)，不料卻在首輪爆冷出局。幸好本周兩人來到邁阿密已經逐漸熟悉，首輪遭遇科內(A.Cornet，法國)／斯維托利娜(E.Svitolina，烏克蘭)。
謝／潘組合從一開始就展現強勢，首盤一開始就出現二度破發，首盤輕鬆以6比1拿下；第二盤，謝／潘配一開始也取得4比1領先，雖一度被追到4比3，但最終謝／潘組合仍以6比3拿下勝利，全場只耗時47分鐘，這也是淑薇在邁阿密女網賽雙打第三度打進16強，次輪將對上尼固拉絲古(M.Niculescu，羅馬尼亞)／帕諾娃(A.Panova，俄羅斯)。
謝淑薇賽後感到打的太少，自己加練後於臉書上說：「今天比賽完繼續訓練，身體允許的話，希望能練好多好多的球！很喜歡現在的雙打搭檔～她是一個很可愛人很好很好的女生^^希望我們能繼續配下去！」
另一名台將詹皓晴，上站也是首度跟前世界球后揚珂維奇(J.Jankovic)合作也落敗，29日兩人對上西班牙組合珊通佳(A.P.Santonja)／索拉爾(S.Soler-Espinosa)，詹皓晴組合在首盤一度面臨3個盤末點，但成功以7比5拿下，第二盤氣勢逆轉下，一路領先後以6比4獲勝，這也是詹皓晴第三度參加邁阿密網賽的首場勝利。
